2 BA's with 3 - 10 yrs of BA exp, SQL Queries & excellent GPA's from Ivy League Universities needed perm in Mississauga (Hurontario/Eglinton area)

The Business Analyst will be responsible for designing, gathering, and documenting detailed business and functional requirements for their customer information and billing systems.

• communicate with multiple departments in a high-growth environment to ensure that business systems completely and sufficiently meet the objectives of the organizations business.
• work closely with I.T. and Systems Testing to assure a high-quality final product.
• create training materials and conduct end-user training on new systems development.

Relationships:

• Works under the direction of a Business Systems Manager to develop requirements according to defined business priorities, and compatible with unified systems vision
• Cross-departmental communication between Operations, Customer Service, Marketing, Finance, and external partners to ensure requirements meet the needs of all business functions
• Bridge between operational departments and I.T. development staff

Responsibilities:

• Elicit detailed business and functional requirements from management, system users, external partners and operational documentation.
• Critically analyze and evaluate information gathered from multiple sources to determine accurate business needs.
• Document business and functional requirements in a clear, detailed, unambiguous fashion according to specified templates.
• Take full ownership of assigned projects to ensure analysis and documentation is complete and sufficient to meet the entire business need.
• Assist in the design of operational business processes.
• Act as a liaison between various business units, and between business units and development staff.
• Assist developers and technical analysts to ensure technical designs align with business requirements.
• Create end-user system training materials for new and modified systems functionality.
• Conduct systems training for end-users and production support staff, and provide hands-on assistance to users as required.
• Work extended hours as required to meet high-profile deadlines.

Required Skills

• Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must. Applicant must be able to write and speak clearly and non-ambiguously on detailed, technical matters. 100% fluency in the English language is a non-negotiable requirement.
• Must have proven problem-solving skills well above the norm.
• Must be able to multi-task effectively between multiple initiatives.
• Applicant must be extremely detail-oriented and focused on completion.
• Must be highly self-motivated and driven.
• Experience with SQL and/or MS-Access is a definite asset
• Experience with Visual Basic for Application is an asset

Education:
At least a University-level undergraduate degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field:

Your academic GPA:

Both BA's MUST have Database experience - they use SQL Server and MySql - ability to understand table relationships, SQL Queries, etc. Will be given a test so must have hands on experience.

Business training is also desirable.

Which of these 2 BA’s would suit your expertise the best:

1 BA will look at new markets - conducting a gap analysis between what the new market requirements from a systems point of view - they will have to look at how the data entities in their system will be affected and then create detailed requirements documents

2 BA will improve feature sets in their systems. A lot of things that are manual due to time constraints in getting a market set up needs to be computerized.
