Survey Programmer:

Programmers provide advanced scripting and technical expertise to support our clients in their market research requirements through highly engaging and interactive platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Provide authoring / scripting support for online surveys to internal and external clients using in-house developed platforms
• Manage shifting priorities and timelines
• Assist in the development tools and processes for internal use

Requirements:

• 2-4 years working experience with: Object Oriented Programming with at least one of the following programming languages: C#, C++, Java; HTML CSS, JavaScript, SQL
• Some programming experience with Web Applications
• Knowledge around type of browsers and different compatibilities
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Word and Excel

Job Overview:

The Technical Specialist will work in the Internet Channel Technology Application Support area with outside vendors and internal organization groups to maintain stable working multi-tiered platforms. The successful applicant will be responsible for leading and ensuring that changes to the environment do not cause unscheduled business interruptions while maintaining a stable evolving platform. MAJOR ACTIVITIES:

The Technical Specialist will report to the Application Support Senior Manager and will assist with the following:

• Change Management
• Facilitate and help guide team through change process
• assist in planning production implementations
• Ensure documented processes are in place and followed so that changes are introduced in an expedited andincident free manner
• Work with vendors to maintain software, hardware and firmware currency
• Production Problem Management:
• Initiate corrective action to resolve system and infrastructure application errors (ms exchange, weblogic, mq).
• Log and document production problems; identify recurring problems and recommend preventative measures.
• Lead and interact with vendors and internal organization groups to determine root cause and problem resolutionincluding service recovery
• Initial point of contact and escalation point for "firefight" issues
• Disaster Recovery:
• Ensure disaster recovery plans are in place and tested annually
• Service Requests:
• Manage all service requests and track through the full life cycle
• Act as escalation point for team members and stakeholders for service request issues
• Evaluating routine or small complex service requests to ensure adherence to standards and processes,
• Identifying inconsistencies, analyzing potential impact and recommend appropriate action
• .Monitoring and analyzing supported services to identify opportunities for improvement and recommends
• Solutions to senior team members.
• Leading other members of the team by providing guidance and coaching on processes and best practices

Requirements:

Technical Troubleshooting--Knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for anticipating, recognizing, and resolving technical (hardware, software, application or operational) problems.

IT Environment, Strong working knowledge of Java, Windows, Unix, Oracle and Weblogic

JOB COMPLEXITIES/CHALLENGES:

Our client, a dynamic global leader in electronic trading systems with offices worldwide, is currently seeking a Server Side Java Developer.

In this role, you will work within a division specializing in repo and securities finance in downtown Toronto. You will be responsible for carrying out ongoing software development on repo and securities software for the financial industry. This will include full product life cycle management, from putting together technical specifications through to design, implementation, testing and debugging. These responsibilities will be for clients as well as for in-house development.

Required Skills:

• BSc in Computer Science or Electrical/Electronic Engineering
• 5+ years Java programming
• Experience with Server Side development required
• 5+ years software development in UNIX environment including shell scripts and other UNIX tools
• Strong communication skills

Desirable Skills:
