Our client, a global TV Production company, is now looking for an IT Director to join their team.

Salary range: from $110,000 to $130,000

Job Description:

• Overall responsibility for the MIS function, and as such a go-to resource for the Executive, MIS Steering Committee, and other business leaders in the company.
• A participant in the MIS Steering Committee’s deliberations and responsible for all IT aspects of projects implemented.
• Project Leader of the strategic review of the MIS function. (Reporting to the Executive Team and working with the MIS consultants selected to perform the review. Ultimately, execution responsibility for implementation of the strategic direction approved by the Executive)
• Keep corporate executive and senior management regularly informed of all relevant issues; identify strengths and weaknesses of MIS in the company and provide recommendations to exploit new opportunities, gain efficiencies and/or rectify weaknesses identified.
• Continue to increase communication efficiencies with IT and inform senior management of new and emerging technologies that could be of benefit to the company.
• Develop and lead a small team of high-quality IT professionals. Foster a culture of collaboration and support through coaching. (The team is based in Montreal and Toronto, and it is envisaged that additional support will also be required in the UK and US)
• Manage external providers ensuring quality and continuity of essential services.
• Manage Risk by ensuring adequate operating procedures, documentation and contingency plans exist to safeguard and ensure continuity of the Company’s operations.
• Addressing the IT Team’s needs in respect of technical issues, professional development and training.
• The development and generation of timely/useful reporting metrics for the MIS function and fiscal responsibility for the MIS budget.

Required Skills:

• Must be someone who is at director level and has knowledge and strategies as an IT leader to utilize IT to increase revenue & efficiencies, and understands how to leverage IT in media space
• Minimum ten (10) years of MIS experience (including project management, software system selection & implementations, and IT strategy development).
• Up to date with technology developments and in particular web-based and mobile applications.
• A working knowledge of the media or similar industries would be a strong advantage, including film-editing technology.
• An appropriate MIS education/designation is required.
• Strong knowledge of business systems, business process and business process reengineering.
• Management experience of a small dedicated team with a user-friendly service-support philosophy.
• Experience with operating & capital budgets and ability to implement short and long-range financial plans for information technology.
• Must come from environment running Mac and PC base applications (Mac is key).
• Must come from the media industry (tv production would be ideal but any media is ok as well)
• International outlook and ability to oversee a team based in multi-locations.
• A team player and consensus builder with the ability to secure support of individuals who are not direct reports.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to delegate and motivate others.
• Outstanding communication skills both oral and written.
• Ability to travel when required.
